We specialise in consultation, laser operation and follow-up on refractive surgery patients and

  • Excimer Laser treatments (LASIK/PRK/LASEK) for the correction of vision disorders (ametropia) as well as PTK as corneal therapy

  • Laser treatments of corneal scars, corneal degeneration, and recurrent corneal erosion, e.g. repeated tearing of the upper layer of the cornea

  • ReLex Smile treatments
    The Refractive Lenticule Extraction or Small Incision Lenticule Extraction improves vision by extracting a tiny lenticle from the cornea with the help of a Femto-Second-Laser.

  • Implantation of Intrastromal Corneal Rings (ICR) to correct vision disorders, e.g. ametropia

  • Refractive Lense Exchange to correct and improve vision by means of a suitable artificial lens

  • Implantation of Phake Intraocular Lenses for the correction of high levels of ametropia in cases when the vision cannot be improved by means of a laser treatment

  • Astigmatic Keratotomy: in cases of high corneal curvatures, a Femto-Second-Laser can be used for flattening the cornea for correct vision

Apart from that, we offer a suitable therapy of squinting and vision disorders in children and adults.
Doctor Schmid enjoys working with children and is able to deal with the needs and fears of both young and older children very effectively. The examinations are carried out in a playful manner which is especially suited to children.

The following examinations can be carried out at our practice:

  • All examinations and medical certificates required for Driver’s Licenses (for example cars, trucks and sport boats)

  • All examinations and complete certification for monitor-based workplaces according to paragraph G 37 of German regulations

  • Computer supported Anomaloscope Examination, both qualitative and quantitative evaluation of colour blindness (anormalous quotient for colour blindness)

  • Evaluation of Night Vision (good night vision is particularly important for car and truck drivers!).
